How to Drink, Snack and Exercise Well

You’re in the heat of battle. It’s you against the world, one of your busiest, yet most productive days in business for months. You’re on fire!

Suddenly it feels like your stomach is on fire too. It’s groaning and your juuuusst starting to feel a little niggle in your head.

Actually, feewwwie, starting to feel a little flat right now too.

You look at your watch and it’s nearly 3pm!

The water glass on your desk takes your eye and you remember the last time you filled it was 10am this morning; you’ve not had a drink of water for the past 5 hours.

That lunchtime workout was skipped.

Haven’t eaten since 7am. Too busy for that.

Sound familiar? We’ve ALL been there, so let’s take a look at 3 simple tips on getting through your day with just a touch more focus on health and wellness.

1. Drink Well:

Water intake is perhaps the most important aspect of maintaining the normal functions of your body. Our bodies are made up of around 70% water, and through normal activities (both performed by you physically and your body) a lot of this water is used throughout the day. It is very important to replenish daily.

As a busy business owner, this is usually the last thing on your mind and it’s not uncommon to have that 5 hour gap between drinks. You first need to understand how much water intake is the correct amount for you, and then make sure you are drinking that amount throughout the day without having to think about it. A great way to do this is by finding a container that holds the amount of water you personally need for the day.

Make a habit of filling this container up once a day and being sure to finish it by the day’s end. Making your water intake a habit will not only help maintain a healthy functioning body, it will also keep you hydrated and as a result, help you to avoid all of those other unhealthy drinks.

2. Snack Well:

Maintaining consistent energy levels throughout the day is important when it comes to productivity. The best way to maintain energy levels throughout the day is to make sure your body is getting the nutrients it needs from food.

We’re all busy and I’m sure you can relate to skipping meals or not finding the time to adequately prepare meals for the day to follow. For many entrepreneurs, prioritizing meal preparation is an ongoing battle.

When the battle gets too great, it’s easy to eat poorly and gain weight. Of course there are many ways to lose weight, but why not avoid putting on that extra weight in the first place, right?

If you’re finding yourself short on time to sit and eat a full meal, or even if you’re just constantly on the go and in need of fuel for your day, then knowing healthy “grab and go” snack options is important.

The truth is, there are plenty of healthy options so you don’t need to grab that muffin with your coffee on the go. Here’s a list of 10 fantastic (and healthy) snacks to keep in mind.

3. Exercise Well

You should exercise regularly. You’ve heard it before right? Of course regular exercise is good for your health. There’s almost an unwritten law that links regular exercise with business success.
